Ah! quelle journée !!
Ce matin je me suis rendue à Cooley's Landing
pour avoir un permis de stationnement pour pouvoir
aller prendre notre douche et faire une brassée de
lavage avant de partir.
Je suis aussi allée chez Sailorman pour acheter
un adpateur 30 ampères - 110 pour pouvoir brancher
le chargeur à batteries au courant du ponton.
J'ai branché le tout, mis le frigo en marche et je
suis partie.
Puis j'ai été acheter des muffins et à 11h00 je
partais pour l'aéroport.
Je n'avais pas noté tous les détails du vol de
Ken, présumant que c'était un assez petit aéroport
et qu'en sachant qu'il arrivait de NY à 12h10, je
n'aurais pas de problème.
ERREUR !
Il ya 4 terminaux et 2 à 3 compagnies aériennes
par terminal ont des vols provenant de New York !!
J'avais aussi oublié de noter son no de
téléphone. Tous ces renseignements étaient sur mon Yahoo.
Après bien des pérégrinations d'un terminal à
l'autre, j'ai demandé à un gars qui avait un ordi
s'il voulait bien m'aider pour que je puisse
prendre mes infos dans mes e-mails. Il a dit oui tout
de suite et j'ai dû retourner à un autre terminal
où Ken arrivait. Il était alors 12h20. Je me
rends au carrousel où ses bagages devaient arriver,
j'attend, j'attend et je ne le vois pas arriver.
Je demande alors à un monsieur qui avait un
cellulaire si il pouvait l'appeler pour moi. Je lui
donne le numéro et juste au momemnt où il
signalait, j'aperçois Ken.
Son vol est arrivé 3/4 d'heure d'avance !! Il se
promenait dans le terminal en me cherchantl.
J'étais super heureuse de l'avoir enfin trouvé.
On est allé au bateau, on a mangé un muffin, puis
on est allé faire quelques commissions de bouffe.
De retour à 17h00. Jake devait venir faire un
tour au bateau. Il est arrivé vers 17h30 et après
2 bières, est parti à 19h30 passé.
Nous on est repartis acheter des serviettes et du
savon, puis de retour au bateau on s'est fait des
sandwiches au salami et jambon, sous le tonnerre
et les éclairs, mais il n'a pas plu.
Ce soir on était dans le bateau quand
soudainement les lumières se sont éteintes d'un coup.
Après un bon moment d'investigations, Ken
vérifiant le courant avec son tester, s'aperçoit qu'il
n'y a pas de courant dans le fil. C'est que
j'avais branché le fil, mais n'avait pas vu qu'il y
avait un breaker juste au dessus et qu'il était à
off !
Là il est 23h30, je crois qu'il est temps pour
moi d'aller au dodo. Il fait super chaud et
humide. Ken est dehors, il se rafraichit.

D DAY minus 6

Ah ! what a day !!
This morning I went to Cooley's Landing to get a parking permit
in order to go there to have a shower and use the laundry before
leaving.
I also went to Sailorman to buy a 30-110 amp. adapter in order
to plug the battery charger on the dock outlet. I plugged it in,
switched on the fridge and took off.
I bought some muffins and at 11:00 I was on my way to the
airport.
I had not taken any written note about Ken's flight, because I
thought it would be a small airport and knowing that he was arriving
from N.Y. at 12:10, I wouldn't have any problem.
MISTAKE !!
There are 4 terminals and 2 to 3 airline companies per terminal
that have flights coming from New York !!
I had also forgotten to write down Ken's phone number.
All these infos were on my Yahoo.
After a lot of peregrinations from one terminal to the next, I asked
a guy who had a computer if he would help me take my infos on
Yahoo. He agreed immediately. Then I had to go back to the
teminal where Ken was arriving. It was 12:20. I go to the luggage
carrouseland I wait, and wait.... and I don't see him coming.
Then I asked
a guy with a cell phone if I could use it to call Ken's number and
find
out where he was. At that precise moment I saw Ken a llittle
further
away. His flight had arrived 45 minutes earlier !! He was walking in
the terminal looking for me. I was so happy to have at last found
him.
We went to the boat, ate a muffin, then we went shopping for
food.
Back at 5:00. Jake was supposed to pass by around 5:30.
He left around 7:30 after a couple of beers.
Then we went back shopping for towels and soap, and back to
the boat we had some ham and salami sandwiches, under a
thunderstorm
without rain.
Tonight we were in the boat when all of a sudden all the llights
went off. After some investigations, Ken found out that when I
had plugged the 30 amp. cable to the outlet I did not put the
breaker to the "on" position!
Now it's 11:30 pm. I think it's time for me to go to bed.
It's super hot and humid. Ken is outside, too hot inside.
