Août Journée touristique à New York Aujourd'hui, c'était notre journée de visite de New York. Et devinez quoi ? C'était aussi notre anniversaire de vie commune Marc et moi. 13 ans exactement. Alors on a fêtez ça en commençant par se rendre en métro à la pointe sud de Manhattan où on a pris le ferry pour l'ile de la Statue de la Liberté. On a fait la visite avec écouteurs en français qui nous expliquait toute l'histoire de la statue. Puis, après l'achat de quelques souvenirs, on était de retour à Manhattan, où on a marché sur Broadway un bon moment. On est allé manger au "Friday's" pour diner. Il était 14h00. Puis ensuite on a marché encore un peu, puis on a trouvé un magasin d'électronique géant où on a pu dénicher une antenne pour le wi-fi qui est supposé augmenter le signal de 300 %. J'ai bien hâte de voir ça. Ensuite on a pris le métro pour nous rendre à Time Square. On y est arrivé il faisait encore jour mais c'était dans nos plans de rester assez longtemps pour voir Time Square de soir. On est allé prendre une bière dans un pub écossais. Puis vers 20h00 on est allé manger au Dallas BBQ. J'ai jamais vu un resto où est servi aussi rapidement, malgré que c'est immense est bondé. Maman et moi on a mangé des ribs, et Marc a pris un combo ribs et poulet. Le tout arrosé de margaritas. Puis on a repris le métro pour revenir au bateau. Il est 22h20 au moment où j'écris ces lignes. Marc va sûrement essayer de brancher l'antenne wi-fi ce soir. Et ensuite ce sera le dodo. Demain on a quelques commissons, puis uploader les dernières photos, prendre une douche et nous serons prêts à partir. À demain donc ! |
August 21th Sightseeing Day in New York City Today was our sightseeing day in NY. And guess what ? It was also Marc and Lise anniversary of living together. 13 years exactly ! So we celebrated that by first taking the subway to the southern tip of Manhattan where we boarded a ferry to the Statue of Liberty Island. The visit was worth it, especially with the headphones telling us (in french) the whole story of the Statue. Then, after purchasing some souvenirs, we were back to Manhattan where we walked on Broadway for a while before heading for "Friday's" for a late lunch. It was 14:00. After that we walked again for a while, then found a giant electronics store where Marc bought an antenna for the wifi, that is supposed to boost the signal by 300%. I can't wait to see that. From there we took the subway to go to Times Square. It was still daylight when we got there but it was in our plans to stay long enough to see it by night too. We had a beer in a Scottish Pub. Then around 20:00 we had dinner at Dallas BBQ. I've never seen a restaurant with a quick service like that, even if the place is huge and full. Mom and I had some pork ribs, while Marc took the combo, ribs and chicken. All this with a nice frozen margarita. Then we took the subway again to come back to the boat. It's 22:20 now. Marc will certainly try his new toy (the antenna) before going to bed. Tomorrow we will have some shopping to do, then we'll upload the last pictures, take a shower and we'll be ready to go ! XXXX |
