En route vers Grande-Rivière, nous apercevons cette gigantesque chaise berçante et cette cage à homard. Gribou n'a pu s'empêcher de se bercer alors que Marc fut pris au piège, attiré par la "bouette". On our way to Grande-Rivière, we noticed this giant rocking chair and this lobster cage. Gribou could not help but rock himself while Marc was caught in the trap, attracted by the bait.
De son côté, Lise est allée prendre la barre du bateau de pêche. For her part, Lise went to take the helm of the fishing boat.
	L'église de Grande-Rivière est la plus grande de toute la gaspésie, avec 1500 places. The church of Grande-Rivière is the largest of all the Gaspésie region, with 1500 seats.
Au quai de Grande-Rivière, Marc jette un oeil aux bateaux de pêche. At the Grande-Rivière wharf, Marc takes a look at the fishing boats.
Petit cours d'ornithologie :  À gauche un Goéland et à droite une Mouette ! On reconnait le Goéland argenté (59-66 cm) au bec marqué d'un point rouge et aux pattes rosées. La Mouette tridactyle est plus petite (40-46 cm), pas de point rouge, les pattes noires. Short ornithology course: Does it look like the same bird?  Take a closer look ! On the left, the Herring Gull (59-66 cm) has a beak with a red dot and pink legs. On the right, the Black-Legged Kittiwake is smaller (40-46 cm), no red dot, and obviously black legs.
	Près de l'usine de transformation, des bacs pleins de carapaces prêtes à être envoyées au compostage. Close to the processing plant, bins full of shells  ready to be sent to composting.
On voit souvent leur bouée flottant à la surface de l'eau, mais rarement le "crab pot" lui-même.  En voici des centaines. Their floating buoy is often seen on the surface of the water, but rarely the "crab pot" itself. Here are hundreds of them.
Ici, des vigneaux pour le séchage du poisson. Here, flakes for drying the fish. Sur la droite, un bateau de pêche muni d'ailerons stabilisateurs pour diminuer le roulis. On the right, a fishing boat with stabilizing fins to reduce rolling.

	La maison du phare est rendue dangereusement proche de la falaise. The house is now dangerously close to the cliff.

Un Goéland marin, se distingue du Goéland argenté par son manteau noir. Il est aussi un peu plus gros (71-79cm) A Great Black-backed Gull is distinguished from the Herring Gull by its black plumage. Nous voici à l'Anse-à-Beaufils, à la microbrasserie Pit Caribou où nous passerons la nuit. Here we are in the small village of Anse-à-Beaufils, at the Pit Caribou microbrewery where we will spend the night.
Après quelques bières Marc se croit à la barre de ce bateau... After a few beers Marc believes himself at the helm of this boat ...	Les soirées sont fraîches. The evenings are cool.
Un couple de Plongeons catmarin nous accompagne toute la soirée. A couple of Red-throated Loons stayed close by the whole evening.

Dans la falaise juste à côté, une colonie d'Hirondelles de rivage. In the escarpment next door, a colony of Bank Swallows.
Un arrêt à la Maison du Pêcheur est un incontournable.  Le resto n'était pas encore ouvert pour la saison mais la gentille propriétaire nous a invités à y entrer et nous avons eu droit à une visite "guidée" si on peut dire.   A stop at the Maison du Pêcheur is a must. The restaurant was not yet open for the season but the nice owner invited us to come in and we were given a "guided" tour so to speak.
Les graffitis de l'été 1969 sont toujours visibles sur les plafonds du restaurant. The graffitis of the summer of 1969 are still visible on the ceilings of the restaurant.
Rappelons que la Maison du pêcheur a eu une influence importante dans l'Histoire du Québec et des événements d'octobre 1970. Durant l'été 1969, Paul Rose, Jacques Rose et Francis Simard, futurs meneurs du Front de libération du Québec, s'installent à Percé pour ouvrir la « Maison du Pêcheur »; un lieu pour conscientiser la population gaspésienne à la cause politique de l'indépendance. Un jeune gaspésien, Bernard Lortie se joindra à eux. Ils se heurtent aux désaccords de l'élite de Percé, et à l'indifférence des gens de passage dans la ville. Déterminés, ces indépendantistes se radicalisent, et formeront à leur retour à Montréal, la cellule Chénier, à l'origine de l'enlèvement et de la mort du ministre Pierre Laporte. In the summer of 1969, Paul Rose, Jacques Rose and Francis Simard, future leaders of the Front de liberation du Québec, settle down in Percé to open the "Maison du Pêcheur"; A place to raise the Gaspesian population's awareness about the political cause of independence. A young local guy, Bernard Lortie will join them. They come up against the disagreements of the elite of Percé, and the indifference of the passing people. Determined, these independentists became radicalized, and on their return to Montreal, they formed the Chénier Cell, the cause of the abduction and death of Minister Pierre Laporte

Arrivés au quai, où nous nous apprêtons à embarquer pour l'Ile Bonaventure, un bateau de pêche vient d'arriver et nous avons été témoins du déchargement des homards. When we arrived at the wharf, where we were about to embark for Bonaventure Island, a fishing boat had just arrived, and we saw the unloading of the lobsters.
En approchant de l'ile, il y a des milliers d'oiseaux marins autour du bateau. Je crois pouvoir identifier ceux-ci comme Guillemots de Brünnich. Approaching the island, there are thousands of seabirds around the boat. I think I can identify these as Thick-billed Murres.
La matinée est brumeuse et c'est à peine si on distingue le Rocher Percé. The morning is foggy and we hardly distinguish the Rocher Percé.
Après un moment, le ciel bleu se profile à l'horizon. After a while, the blue sky looms on the horizon.
À travers les dernières volutes de brume nous aperçevons finalement l'ancien village, aujourd'hui un parc national. Through the last volutes of mist we finally see the old village, now a national park.
Et c'est sous les chauds rayons du soleil que nous accostons à l'ile et que nous prenons un bon lunch avant d'attaquer le long sentier qui nous mènera aux colonies de Fous de Bassan. And it's under the warm rays of the sun that we dock to the island and have a good lunch before taking the long trail that will lead us to the Northern Gannets colonies.
D'ici nous avons une vue imprenable sur les falaises de Percé ainsi que sur le Rocher Percé. From here we have an awsome view of the Percé cliffs as well as the Rocher Percé.
